Anna Ryder Richardson is one of the UK’s best loved television presenters. She shot to fame in the BBC hit series Changing Rooms and now owns a zoo in Pembrokeshire. She is as passionate about saving endangered animal species as she is about interior design.
Anna began her career managing a children’s interior shop, where she started designing and decorating children’s bedrooms. She then went on to contribute to the design segment on GMTV. Following this, she was then cast as an interior designer on Changing Rooms, where she rose to fame due to her bold interior design choices. Anna also contributed to shows including BBC1’s My Life for Sale and House Invaders. Anna has appeared on BBC Sport Relief, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, and the celebrity version of Who wants to be a Millionaire.
In 2008, Anna became the owner of Manor Wildlife Park in Pembrokeshire. ITV/Animal Planet followed Anna when she first took over the rather dilapidated zoo. With Anna’s enthusiasm and energy her zoo is now one of Pembrokeshire’s most outstanding attractions. The number of animal species has grown significantly and there have been major, conservation-led changes including important new breeding programmes.
Since 2019, Anna has presented present her own show with BBC Radio Wales ‘Sunday Morning’s With Anna Ryder Richardson’ and in 2021 she voiced the period docu-drama for Sky History, Sex & Sensibility, all produced by One Tribe TV.
