Speaker - Adventurer - Broadcaster
Dale is an extremely accomplished and entertaining public speaker, host and panel chair having completed hundreds of talks and engagements all around the world.
Prior to setting up and running her own TV Production company One Tribe TV, Dale spent 22 years working for BBC Television as a producer/director and series producer in factual programmes. She has specialised in filming abroad in extreme and often dangerous locations with both humans and wildlife. Her adventures have now taken her to over 60 countries and to all continents including Antarctica and she even went to the North Pole in 2016.
Dale series produced “Human Planet”, the first ever landmark series from the BBC’s Natural History Unit based in Bristol, to focus on human beings. This 8 part series was transmitted on BBC1 in Spring 2011, winning huge critical acclaim. “Human Planet” won numerous awards including 8 BAFTA nominations, winning 2 for cinematography and editing. Dale is now a full BAFTA member It also won an Emmy in the USA and best natural history series at the Panda awards. In June, 2011, Dale was presented with the Cherry Kearton Medal and Award from the Royal Geographical Society for Natural History Photography and Cinematography. She has done lecture tours for both the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Scottish Geographical Society .
Dale is also the co-author of the BBC “Human Planet” book and an accomplished travel writer, writing features for National Geographic Traveller and the Daily Telegraph as well as a range of other publications.
Dale is managing director of “One Tribe TV”, a TV production company based in Bath and Cardiff which makes a range of factual documentary output . At the BBC she worked in news and current affairs, science, documentaries, and the Natural History Unit in Bristol. She has produced and directed many famous TV presenters including Bear Grylls, Jeremy Clarkson and Chris Tarrant, Chris Packham and Kate Humble. Apart from her passion to film in the great outdoors, Dale is a keen runner, cyclist, kayaker, hiker, scuba diver and skier.
Since leaving the BBC, Dale has been in considerable demand as a public speaker, lecturer, host and judge, originally trained as an actress she adds a real sense of performance to all her public appearances. Her energy, enthusiasm and humour are combined with vast experience, knowledge and passion for her subjects. All her talks, lectures and presentations are adapted to the specialist needs of the audience, they have ranged from after-dinner talks for companies, motivational talks, conference speeches, university lectures, international cruise ships and music festivals. She will always adapt her public speaking to match the audience requirements. Since 2011 she has been working as a special guest/celebrity speaker for both P&O and Cunard on cruise ships around the world and last year starting working with Viking Sea Cruises.
She has also been interviewed many times for TV and Radio in the UK, Australia and America.
